Dr. Bertram Siegel | Bertram Siegel, is a senior partner in the law firm of Siegel and Siegel in Teaneck. He is a member of the New Jersey, Federal, District, and United States Supreme Courts. Dr. Siegel served as chairman and a professor of the Department of Law and Government at Alphonsis College. Dr. Siegel has served as special and general counsel to a multi-state insurance company and as an arbitrator of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Bert has served as President and a Founder of the Woodcliff Lake Education Foundation. As a member of Temple Emanuel, he wrote the constitution and served as attorney for the Temple in Woodcliff Lake. |
Mr. Alfred J. Murphy, Jr.Vice President | Alfred J. Murphy, Jr. has lived in Hillsdale with his late wife, Margie, for 50 years, raising five children. He served as Mayor, Councilman, Planning Board Member, and School Board Trustee in the local and high school districts, including one year as president of Pascack Valley Mayor's Association and one year of the Pascack Valley Regional Board. An Emergency Medical Technician on the Hillsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service in his 43rd year, he is active in St. John the Baptist parish and serves as Vice President of the Local Draft Board. He is a retired Verizon Corporation executive, with a BS and MBA from Seton Hall University. |
Ms. Janet Bissinger Board Member | Janet has lived in Montvale for 25 years. A former nurse, she has a BS in Nursing and an MPH in Health Care Management. Her daughter went through the Montvale school system as well as Pascack Hills. Throughout those years, she volunteered in a variety of organizations. Most notably she was Treasurer of MEF, President of Montvale PTO, Girl Scout troop leader and town cookie campaign manager, and chaired or worked a variety of committees in the PTO and PFA. Currently, she volunteers in the Memorial School Library and also as an ESL tutor through the Montvale Public Library. Janet is interested in maintaining the current level of excellence in our school district as well as keeping in mind the financial climate of the time. |
Mrs. Maura Ellis Board Member | Maura and her husband Bill have been residents of River Vale since 1976. Their four children attended the River Vale Public Schools and Pascack Valley High School before going on to William and Mary, Duke, and Bucknell University. The foundation they received in our school systems prepared them for careers as an anesthesiologist, lawyer, engineer, and a Ph.D. candidate. Mrs. Ellis served as Chairperson for the River Vale PTA Book Fair, Girl Scout and Cub Scout troop leader, was a member of the Town Organizing Committee, and chaired the PFO Scholarship Fund Raising Committee. She also volunteered on the River Vale Centennial Committee and coached softball. This is her 12th year as a member of the regional school board. |
Mr. James Hall Board Member | James Hall has been a Woodcliff Lake resident for 27 years and a member of the Board of Education since 2002. He is Chairperson of the Finance Committee and member of the Building and Grounds and Curriculum committees. He is a father of two daughters, Laura and Kelly, both graduates of Pascack Hills, and his son Ryan will graduate in 2013. Jim is a mathematics teacher at Northern Valley Regional High School District in Demarest. |
| Brian Hallowell is a lifetime resident of Montvale. He and his wife Jean are in the process of raising their 3 children, a son in college, another son at Pascack Hills, and their daughter who is attending Fieldstone Middle School. Brian has been involved in the Montvale community through his past position on the Montvale Board of Education for 9 years. He was also on the Board of the Montvale Swim Club for 4 years and has been an active part of the Montvale athletic program as a coach for the teams that his children have been involved with through the years. Brian looks forward to bringing the lessons learned from his experiences, both in the business world and his civic involvement, to the Pascack Valley Regional High School District. Brian prides himself on entering every situation with an open mind, and takes the time to gather the required information and opinions before making a sound logical decision. |
Board Member | Adam Silverstein resides in River Vale with his wife Marisa and their son Benjamin. He is the founder of a public relations firm that specializes in government affairs and grassroots advocacy. Mr. Silverstein has worked in local, county, state and federal government and through these professional endeavors will bring a unique perspective to the Pascack Valley Regional Board. His passion for education stems not only from his own experiences but from his wife who is a middle school guidance counselor and in-laws who are retired teachers from Fieldstone Middle School in Montvale. |
Mr. Jeffrey Steinfeld Board Member | Jeffrey Steinfeld comes by his concern for education naturally; his mother was both a teacher and a long-time member and President of the local Board of Education where he grew up. He believes that there is nothing more important than the education of our young people. Mr. Steinfeld is partner in a small law firm in Hackensack, where he practices criminal defense and immigration law, with a specialty in juvenile criminal cases. Mr. Steinfeld is active as a volunteer at Temple Emanuel and is co-chair of the Juvenile Practice Committee of the Bergen County Bar Association. He is also involved in local charitable endeavors and as an attorney volunteer handling cases where individuals are claiming political asylum. |
Mrs. Nadine Timpanaro Board Member | Nadine Timpanaro is a lifelong resident of Hillsdale, a 1980 graduate of Pascack ValleyHigh School, with two of her three children currently attending PVHS. She is passionate about maintaining the quality of education that has always been present in our school system. Mrs. Timpanaro has worked in publishing for many years, and is an advertising sales territory manager for a special needs parenting publication. She has always been a very active volunteer in town and at the schools. This involvement includes two non-consecutive terms as Vice President of Ways & Means, George White Family Faculty Association, Cheerleading Coordinator and Recording Secretary, Hillsdale Football Association, an active member of the Pascack Valley Indians Gridiron Club and Pascack Valley Regional Dance Team, and Co-Chair of the PVHS Class of 2010 Senior Fashion Show. |
